Big Shift Global is committed to safeguarding the privacy of our website visitors, and anyone else about whom we process personal information. We believe you have the right to privacy on the web. This policy sets out how we will treat your personal information.
Who We Are
Big Shift Global is a multi-stakeholder global open source campaign coordinated by CAN (Climate Action Network) and Christian Aid together with organisations from the Global North and South. coalition of charities and international partners which aims to we aim to take public pressure on Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) to stop funding fossil fuels and invest in, clean and affordable renewable energy. The campaign is coordinated by Christian Aid, a charity registered in England and Wales with charity number 1105851 and registered company number 5171525 and the Climate Action Network, a worldwide network of over 1100 Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) in over 120 countries.
What information we will collect
In order to use the form on the website to generate an email to the World Bank, you will be required to enter your name and your email address. These details are collected in order that the email to the World Bank comes from you personally. These are the only details that Big Shift Global website will collect about you.
The information you provide will be securely stored on the Christian Aid systems in accordance with requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998.
How we use the information we collect about you
Unless you have indicated that you are happy to get further updates on the Big Shift Global campaign, the only thing we will use your information for is to generate and send an email to the World Bank.
If you have indicated on the form, through ticking the box to receive email updates, that you would like to receive further information from Big Shift Global about the campaign, we will use your details to send you emails about the progress of the campaign and any other actions you may be able to take part in.
Please be assured that we will not, under any circumstances, share your data with anyone for marketing purposes and you will not receive offers from other companies or organisations as a result of giving your details to us.
We may need to share limited information with our service providers who help us to prepare and send you our communications. However, we will not allow these organisations to use your data for their own purposes and will take care to ensure that they keep your data secure.
How long will we keep your information?
We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary for the relevant activity.
If you request that we stop sending you marketing materials we will keep a record of your contact details and appropriate information to enable us to comply with your request not to be contacted by us.
It is your right to request details of the information we hold about you. To receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you (known as a subject access request) please write to our Data Protection Officer, Will Denton, at Christian Aid, PO Box 100, London, SE1 7RT, enclosing a cheque for £10 made payable to Christian Aid. We will respond within 40 days of receiving your letter. Alternatively, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
You also have the right to ask us not to use your data for marketing or communications purposes. If you would like to opt out of any communications from Christian Aid please contact us on the email or postal address above.
